Well, well, well. I had hoped the rapture would happen sometime before 2018 – but we only have a couple days left in 2017 and no rapture as of yet. Oh well. Too bad. Disappointing. Of course, I am very happy to start 2018 hoping again that it will be the year of the rapture also. And so on and so forth, year by year until either the Lord returns, or I just die and go to heaven by the regular method.
Seeing that it looks like we are going into 2018, let’s make this a good year. There must be a reason why Jesus has waited this long, there must still be work to do. I say we go a fishing!
“Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, We also go with thee. They went forth, and entered into a ship immediately; and that night they caught nothing.” (John 21:3)
The catch is the Lord’s so he will give success in his own timing. There are still many souls to be won for Jesus. The population of the world is greater now than ever before – and think about how many billions of people there are – especially those under 18 years of age – who haven’t ever heard the gospel yet. All we have to do is drop the net down and pull them in.
“But when the morning was now come, Jesus stood on the shore: but the disciples knew not that it was Jesus. Then Jesus saith unto them, Children, have ye any meat? They answered him, No. And he said unto them, Cast the net on the right side of the ship, and ye shall find. They cast therefore, and now they were not able to draw it for the multitude of fishes.” (John 21:4-6)
Let’s insist upon getting serious this year, busy about our master’s business, and telling others while we still have time.
