Did Jesus say anything against Sodomy?

Sodomites seeking to justify themselves by asserting that Jesus Christ never preached against them have no idea what they are talking about.

Jesus specifically mentioned the destruction of Sodom and likened it to his return to destroy the world:

” Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed. In that day, he which shall be upon the housetop, and his stuff in the house, let him not come down to take it away: and he that is in the field, let him likewise not return back. Remember Lot’s wife.” Luke 17:28-32

Jesus commands our remembrance that when Lot’s wife was almost saved she looked back toward Sodom and was destroyed (Genesis 19:26).

Jesus said he was eagerly anticipating his return to burn up the wicked:

” I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if it be already kindled? But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I straitened till it be accomplished!” Luke 12:49-50.

Jesus specifically calls fornications (plural) grave sin:

” For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies: These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man.” Matt 15:19-20.

” For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.” Mark 7:21-23.

Although he cleverly dodged the Pharisees’ attempt to implicate him as breaking the Roman law that restricted Jewish imposition of the death penalty, nevertheless Jesus confirmed that under Moses’ law they could stone the woman that was caught in adultery:

” So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.” John 8:7.

The notion that Jesus rejectedOld Testament commands against Sodomy is ridiculous. Jesus affirmed the Old Testament:

” Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.” Matt 5:17-19.

This includes Christ’s affirmation of marriage between a man and a woman only as the divinely sanctioned instrument for intimacy:

” And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.” Matthew 19:4-6

” But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife; And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.” Mark 10:6-9

Because he was measuring man’s inner thoughts and intentions against the infinitely high standard of God’s ultimate righteousness, Christ preaching on the issue of moral chastity was much stricter than anything found in the Old Testament codes. He preached forgiveness for repentant sinners, but he did not preach a laxer or more permissive standard of righteousness! The opposite:

” Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.” Matthew 5:27-29

Jesus’ earthly ministry began (and ended) with preaching repentance:

” From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” Matt 4:17.

” Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.” Mark 1:14-15.

Jesus commanded repentance and was unmoved by the deaths of Galileans and others who had failed to do so:

” There were present at that season some that told him of the Galilæans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices. And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilæans were sinners above all the Galilæans, because they suffered such things? I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem? I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.” Luke 13:1-5.

Jesus went to the lost, but he demanded that they repent.

” And Jesus answering said unto them, They that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” Luke 5:31-32.

” When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” Mark 2:17

” But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” Matthew 9:13

Those who refused to repent were upbraided by Jesus Christ:

” Then began he to upbraid the cities wherein most of his mighty works were done, because they repented not: Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works, which were done in you, had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.” Matthew 11:20-21.

” The men of Nineve shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here.” Luke 11:32

Those who are self-righteous and seek to justify themselves are diametrically opposed to the gospel of Jesus Christ:

” I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.” Luke 15:7.

Those who are asking for Jesus to name specific sins before they will repent of them are like the story Jesus told of the rich man in hell who asked Abraham to send a man back from the dead to warn his brothers:

“Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them. And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.” Luke 16:29-31

Similarly, since the fake “Christian” sodomites reject what Moses and the Law already declared to be sin, their demand to hear Christ explicitly repeat these same commands again, as if they would listen this time and repent, is insincere.

” But if ye believe not his [Moses’] writings, how shall ye believe my words?” John 5:47

The command to repent is essential to true Christianity, as Jesus Christ declared after his resurrection when he commissioned the disciples:

” And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.” Luke 24:46-47.

” I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.” John 12:46

Since this is all so clear, why are there “Christian” sodomites who reject the demand that they acknowledge their sin and repent? It is because they are unsaved tares and filled with devils:

” He that is of God heareth God’s words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.” John 8:47

” Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.” John 8:34

Unrepentant sodomite so-called “Christians” are deceiving themselves, their assertions of self-righteousness and their pretence that God “loves” them too much to send them to hell will not get them out of the fires of damnation where they are headed:

” He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.” John 12:48

Those who claim they have trusted Christ, yet continue on in their sin without repenting, are fools who will also be punished:

” Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.” John 5:14

People who trust Jesus Christ in sincerity are those who repent and are converted:

” Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.” Mark 8:38

” That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them.” Mark 4:12.

All the verses above were taken from Jesus Christ’s own words. Many more could be added. This is in addition to the many verses throughout the entire Bible that also condemn sodomy.

It was the so-called “Fundamentalists” who opened the door for all this rot by refusing to defend the King James Bible as God’s words in English, and instead asserted there was “no perfect translation” and so compromised with the critical scholarship. It was all downhill from there. They gave sodomites all the ammunition they needed to pretend that nothing in the “original” (i.e., missing manuscript autographs) or anything “accurately translated” really applied to them. And so here we are today, with professing outward Christianity in a state of near-total apostasy.
