Leave the Jews alonePosted: June 7, 2017
If something is wrong in the world it doesn’t mean you are entitled to fix it. The need is not the call.
” And they withstood Uzziah the king, and said unto him, It appertaineth not unto thee, Uzziah, to burn incense unto the LORD, but to the priests the sons of Aaron, that are consecrated to burn incense: go out of the sanctuary; for thou hast trespassed; neither shall it be for thine honour from the LORD God.” 2 Chronicles 26:18
Some nuts presume the devil can be shooed away with noise and indignant commands like an unwanted stray. This backfires. Sin invited the devil in to begin with, and unrepentant and self-willed attempts to drive him out only grants him a greater foothold.
” Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities. Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.” Jude 1:8-9
The devil may have fallen, but he remains an anointed cherub.
“Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.” Ezekiel 28:14-15
” For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.” Romans 11:29
Samuel anointed David when the kingdom was taken away from King Saul, yet David refused to take the crown away his successor by killing him because he too was the Lord’s anointed.
” And David said to Abishai, Destroy him not: for who can stretch forth his hand against the LORD’S anointed, and be guiltless? David said furthermore, As the LORD liveth, the LORD shall smite him; or his day shall come to die; or he shall descend into battle, and perish. The LORD forbid that I should stretch forth mine hand against the LORD’S anointed: but, I pray thee, take thou now the spear that is at his bolster, and the cruse of water, and let us go.” 1 Samuel 26:9-11
Although the eventual death of King Saul made his own kingdom secure, yet David himself took vengeance on the one who killed Saul because he had harmed the Lord’s anointed.
” And David said unto him, How wast thou not afraid to stretch forth thine hand to destroy the LORD’S anointed? And David called one of the young men, and said, Go near, and fall upon him. And he smote him that he died. And David said unto him, Thy blood be upon thy head; for thy mouth hath testified against thee, saying, I have slain the LORD’S anointed.” 2 Samuel 1:14-16
One must be guiltless and in God’s mercy to prevail against enemies with plausible claims to the rights that we would sack. Otherwise, our presumption is sin, and God will let our enemies escape to abase our pride.
Spiritual warfare is winning the case for our victory in the courts of heaven first so that then success on earth will follow. It entails repentance, setting aside pride, pleading the blood of Christ for forgiveness and mercy, purging ourselves of sin, yielding our will to God’s perfect will, pure motives, doing first things first, doing right, patience, perseverance, intercessions, fasting, joining hands, and whatever else the Holy Spirit enjoins for us to do.
” For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” Ephesians 6:12
” Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” Hebrews 4:16
” Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.” Acts 12:5
Like the devil, the Jews before they fell occupied the first position. Their talents were designed to glorify God, but they abused them. Like the devil, the Jews have not lost any of their endowed blessings, but retain them … with curses and corruption.
” Then wrought Bezaleel and Aholiab, and every wise hearted man, in whom the LORD put wisdom and understanding to know how to work all manner of work for the service of the sanctuary, according to all that the LORD had commanded.” Exodus 36:1
” But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.” Deuteronomy 8:18
” If ye will not hear, and if ye will not lay it to heart, to give glory unto my name, saith the LORD of hosts, I will even send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings: yea, I have cursed them already, because ye do not lay it to heart. Behold, I will corrupt your seed, and spread dung upon your faces, even the dung of your solemn feasts; and one shall take you away with it.” Malachi 2:2-3
God’s plan eventually comes around full circle. One day the devil will be destroyed and all the blessings of his kingdom will be robbed and redeployed by Jesus Christ to the glory of God, as originally intended. In the meantime, the devil is a useful tool for wrath and temptation, accomplishing God’s mysterious purposes of trial, purification, and testing of the children of God. Likewise with the Jew. Their 12 tribes were endowed with destructive powers that have been used in God’s providence for the polishing of the Christian nations of Europe to the glory of God by Jesus Christ.
” And his brethren also went and fell down before his face; and they said, Behold, we be thy servants. And Joseph said unto them, Fear not: for am I in the place of God? But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.” Genesis 50:18-20
Don’t blame the Jews for exploiting our weaknesses, that’s their job: nation wrecking: doing God service by bringing us low on account of our own sins. Our cure is not found in the futility of screaming rebukes at blind Jews for their greed and corruption, but rather our national repentance and a revival of true Bible-Christianity.
” And when they went from nation to nation, and from one kingdom to another people; He suffered no man to do them wrong: yea, he reproved kings for their sakes, Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.” 1 Chronicles 16:20-22
” The portion of Jacob is not like them; for he is the former of all things: and Israel is the rod of his inheritance: the LORD of hosts is his name. Thou art my battle axe and weapons of war: for with thee will I break in pieces the nations, and with thee will I destroy kingdoms; And with thee will I break in pieces the horse and his rider; and with thee will I break in pieces the chariot and his rider; With thee also will I break in pieces man and woman; and with thee will I break in pieces old and young; and with thee will I break in pieces the young man and the maid; I will also break in pieces with thee the shepherd and his flock; and with thee will I break in pieces the husbandman and his yoke of oxen; and with thee will I break in pieces captains and rulers.” Jeremiah 51:19-23
There is a time and place for asking the Jews to leave a nation (with a corresponding reduction in the nation’s wealth and power), but that’s not easy to accomplish in a just manner without incurring condemnation before God.
” All that found them have devoured them: and their adversaries said, We offend not, because they have sinned against the LORD, the habitation of justice, even the LORD, the hope of their fathers.” Jeremiah 50:7
” Israel was holiness unto the LORD, and the firstfruits of his increase: all that devour him shall offend; evil shall come upon them, saith the LORD.” Jeremiah 2:3
” But thou shouldest not have looked on the day of thy brother in the day that he became a stranger; neither shouldest thou have rejoiced over the children of Judah in the day of their destruction; neither shouldest thou have spoken proudly in the day of distress. Thou shouldest not have entered into the gate of my people in the day of their calamity; yea, thou shouldest not have looked on their affliction in the day of their calamity, nor have laid hands on their substance in the day of their calamity;” Obadiah 1:12-13
The evangelical superstition of treating the Jews like a luck rabbit’s foot – bless them and you will be blessed back – is, of course, ridiculous idolatry. The “I will bless them that bless thee” promise to Abraham in Genesis 12:3 applies to Gentiles who are in Jesus Christ:
” That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.” Galatians 3:14
” Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.” Revelation 3:9
Regarding the nation of Israel the best advice to the nations is this: mind your own knitting and leave them alone because they are God’s problem, not ours:
” And God came to Laban the Syrian in a dream by night, and said unto him, Take heed that thou speak not to Jacob either good or bad.” Genesis 31:24
” And Balak said unto Balaam, Neither curse them at all, nor bless them at all. But Balaam answered and said unto Balak, Told not I thee, saying, All that the LORD speaketh, that I must do?” Numbers 23:25-26
” And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.” Zechariah 12:3
National sin invites the wrath of God, and he has loosed the instruments of his wrath – the devils and the Jews – against us. Cursing them is futile – they are permitted by God to do what they do.
” Behold, I have created the smith that bloweth the coals in the fire, and that bringeth forth an instrument for his work; and I have created the waster to destroy.” Isaiah 54:16
” Not for thy righteousness, or for the uprightness of thine heart, dost thou go to possess their land: but for the wickedness of these nations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee, and that he may perform the word which the LORD sware unto thy fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.” Deuteronomy 9:5
Repentance, returning to Jesus Christ, and to the Bible, that is the answer for us one and all.
” We roar all like bears, and mourn sore like doves: we look for judgment, but there is none; for salvation, but it is far off from us. For our transgressions are multiplied before thee, and our sins testify against us: for our transgressions are with us; and as for our iniquities, we know them; In transgressing and lying against the LORD, and departing away from our God, speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood. And judgment is turned away backward, and justice standeth afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter. Yea, truth faileth; and he that departeth from evil maketh himself a prey: and the LORD saw it, and it displeased him that there was no judgment.” Isaiah 59:11-15
But that isn’t going to happen, and so the Tribulation is about to be unleashed. During that time Israel will be crucified as a nation. But a handful of rare Jews will survive, a few meek survivors that God will pity, as King David pitied lame Mephibosheth (2 Sam 9:10-13) and as King Evil-Merodach pitied blind Jehoiachin (2 Kings 25:27-30).
” Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob’s trouble; but he shall be saved out of it.” Jeremiah 30:7
” When God arose to judgment, to save all the meek of the earth. Selah.” Psalms 76:9
” And the LORD their God shall save them in that day as the flock of his people: for they shall be as the stones of a crown, lifted up as an ensign upon his land.” Zechariah 9:16
” Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Behold, I will save my people from the east country, and from the west country; And I will bring them, and they shall dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God, in truth and in righteousness.” Zechariah 8:7-8
” In that day, saith the LORD, will I assemble her that halteth, and I will gather her that is driven out, and her that I have afflicted; And I will make her that halted a remnant, and her that was cast far off a strong nation: and the LORD shall reign over them in mount Zion from henceforth, even for ever.” Micah 4:6-7
” Thus saith the LORD; Though they be quiet, and likewise many, yet thus shall they be cut down, when he shall pass through. Though I have afflicted thee, I will afflict thee no more.” Nahum 1:12
” I will also leave in the midst of thee an afflicted and poor people, and they shall trust in the name of the LORD. The remnant of Israel shall not do iniquity, nor speak lies; neither shall a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth: for they shall feed and lie down, and none shall make them afraid.” Zephaniah 3:12-13
