In the Garden of Eden man was a vegitarian, but after Noah’s flood man ate meat. But what about the future dispensation? the answer is: FISH.

When Christ rose in his glorified eternal body, he ate fish and honeycomb:

” And while they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, he said unto them, Have ye here any meat? And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honeycomb. And he took it, and did eat before them.” Luke 24:41-43

” As soon then as they were come to land, they saw a fire of coals there, and fish laid thereon, and bread. Jesus saith unto them, Bring of the fish which ye have now caught.” John 21:9-10

Nobody enjoys the thought of killing mammals like cows, pigs, and sheep for food, but a fish nobody cares about.

” He that killeth an ox is as if he slew a man; he that sacrificeth a lamb, as if he cut off a dog’s neck; he that offereth an oblation, as if he offered swine’s blood; he that burneth incense, as if he blessed an idol. Yea, they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delighteth in their abominations.” Isaiah 66:3

” The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them. And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice’ den. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.” Isaiah 11:6-9

” And they had a few small fishes: and he blessed, and commanded to set them also before them. So they did eat, and were filled: and they took up of the broken meat that was left seven baskets.” Mark 8:7-8

” There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many?” John 6:9

Jesus chose fishermen for his disciples and the fall of Satan is likened to a fish-fest:

” Thou didst divide the sea by thy strength: thou brakest the heads of the dragons in the waters. Thou brakest the heads of leviathan in pieces, and gavest him to be meat to the people inhabiting the wilderness.” Psalms 74:13-14

From the future temple flows living water where innumerable fish are caught:

” And it shall come to pass, that every thing that liveth, which moveth, whithersoever the rivers shall come, shall live: and there shall be a very great multitude of fish, because these waters shall come thither: for they shall be healed; and every thing shall live whither the river cometh. And it shall come to pass, that the fishers shall stand upon it from En–gedi even unto En–eglaim; they shall be a place to spread forth nets; their fish shall be according to their kinds, as the fish of the great sea, exceeding many.” Ezekiel 47:9-10

In heaven are living creatures about God’s throne with faces of a calf, lion, eagle, and man – but no fish or reptiles are represented.

It would appear that in the world to come, if we are reading these indicators right, that man’s protein consumption will come primarily from fish.

Fish-farming was practised in ancient Egypt:

” We remember the fish, which we did eat in Egypt freely; the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlick:” Numbers 11:5

” And they shall be broken in the purposes thereof, all that make sluices and ponds for fish.” Isaiah 19:10

In this video the speaker suggest that fish-farming is a great solution to sustainably feeding the world – and that insects can be raised to feed the fish!
