Saved?

Posted on November 20, 2012

Dear Sinner Friend,

I have good news for you!

You can get saved right now and know it.

Here is how:

1. Realize that you are guilty and deserve hell because of your sins:

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” Romans 3:23

“Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:” Romans 5:12.

“For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;” Romans 1:18.

2. In love, Jesus Christ died to pay the penalty for your sins.

“For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” 2 Corinthians 5:21.

“Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.” 1 John 4:10.

“And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.” 1 John 4:14.

“Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.” Colossians 2:14-15.

3. We know that Jesus Christ is the right saviour, for he not only died for our sins, but also rose again in victory over death, hell, and the grave:

“For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.” 1 Corinthians 15:3-6.

“For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.” 1 Corinthians 15:22.

“And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last: I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.” Revelation 1:17-18.

4. If you will admit you are a guilty sinner who deserves hell, and ask for God’s forgiveness on the basis of Jesus Christ’s death on your behalf, then God will forgive you, give you eternal life, and adopt you into his family forever:

“He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.” John 3:36.

“Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?” Romans 2:4.

“Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.” Acts 20:21.

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:” Ephesians 2:8.

“To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.” Galatians 4:5.

5. Get saved right this moment by trusting Jesus Christ as your Saviour:

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” Romans 10:9.

“And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.” Acts 16:30-31.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.” John 3:16-17.

“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” John 1:12-13.

“Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know. … I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” John 14:1-6.

Suggested prayer:

Dear God, I’m sorry that I’m a guilty sinner who deserves hell. I don’t want to go there, I want your forgiveness. I believe that your Son the Lord Jesus Christ died for me to pay the penalty for my sin so that I could go free. I believe that Jesus died for my sins, was buried, and on the third rose again, and that he offers me salvation in his name. So the best way I know how, I right this moment receive the Lord Jesus as my Saviour, trusting in his shed blood for my forgiveness and the payment on my behalf for my soul’s redemption from guilt and hell. Thank you Lord Jesus Christ for dying for me and saving me. Thank you Heavenly Father for hearing my prayer, for giving me the new birth by the Holy Ghost and now predestinating me to everlasting life and adoption by Jesus Christ into the family of God forever. From now on I trust only the righteousness of Jesus Christ to get me to heaven. Thank you Heavenly Father for saving my soul because of what the Lord Jesus Christ did for me. Thank you for your great love to save me, a sinner. I pray this prayer in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
