“Our Father”

Posted on November 18, 2012

Nothing ever said by Mohamed, Confucius, Buddha, Guru Nanak, Aristotle, Zoroaster, Plato, or Karl Marx was ever as needful, profound, righteous, or appropriate:

After this manner therefore pray ye:

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

(Matthew 6:9-13).

Saved or lost, it seems most men somehow know instinctively that that prayer taught by the Lord Jesus Christ is the right one to pray.

Some interesting examples:

If you want God to truly be your Father, then you need to be born again. Repent of your sins and receive the Lord Jesus Christ to be your Saviour. He died to pay for your sins and rose again the third day to offer you forgiveness and eternal life.
